Girl Time – Girls Only!
Hosted by a board certified occupational therapist, Girl Time sessions runs for 10 months, from September through June each year (with the opportunity to extend through the Summer). Girl Time meets on Tuesdays only from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
Girl Time is a transformative weekly after-school enrichment program tailored to the unique needs of teenage and young adult females with developmental disabilities. Created to foster a supportive and inclusive environment, Girl Time welcomes campers who are enthusiastic about engaging with peers, exploring new experiences, and forming meaningful connections. The program offers a diverse range of activities carefully crafted to enhance life skills, social skills, communication, relationship building, and overall independence. From practical life skills to the art of effective communication and fostering healthy relationships, Girl Time empowers our campers with invaluable tools for personal growth and independence. Additionally, the program integrates activities like yoga and dance to promote physical wellness, self-expression, and emotional well-being. Through Girl Time, young women with developmental disabilities discover a nurturing community where they can thrive, learn, and build lasting friendships while embracing their unique identities during activities tailored to them!
Activities focus on ADL’s, IADL’s, community mobility, pre-vocational skills & social skills to increase overall independence and confidence.
Funding for Services – Camp Acorn is an approved provider under Medicaid/DDD and PerformCare.
