Tricky Tray
This year's event will be held on Wednesday, May 19th, 2010. Reserve this date and join us for an evening that is filled with fun and excitement.

- Tables are for parties of 8-12
(if your party is smaller than 8, parties will be combined to fill a table.)
The Tricky Tray is our largest fundraising event and each year we look to make it even better than the previous year. Due to the support from our camp families and the generousity of local businesses, we exceeded our expectations this year. The results that we yielded will directly benefit our special campers.
The Tricky Tray provides four opportunities to help. When participating in this fundraiser our families must choose from two of the first four listed below.
1. Tickets - We ask that our families sell a minimum of three (3) tickets to the event. The ticket includes: dinner, a goodie bag, and a great night of fun. You can have your own personal table if you sell between 10 and 12 tickets. Tickets are available to the public and are not limited to Camp Acorn families.
2. Small Prizes - Each family will need to donate two small prizes valued at $50 each. You do not have to purchase these prizes. You can simply ask the businesses that you patronize during the year to make a donation. We will provide you with a donation letter if you need it. If you are unable to get prizes donated, look for end of the season sales. The items only have to be valued at $50. If you get them on sale, that's even better. Small appliances, theme baskets, such as beauty products, sports equipment, cooking items (cookbooks, utensils, aprons, etc.) and pampering baskets are always a big hit. In addition, handmade items, such as knitted or crocheted blankets or hand painted wood items, (a child's rocking chair or outdoor decorations), make wonderful prizes. If you are stumped for an idea, a gift certificate to bookstores, restaurants, stores in the mall also make great prizes. Be creative and have fun. People are always looking for new and different prizes at our Tricky Tray.
3. Large Prizes - Each family will need to donate one large prize valued at $100. As mentioned above, there are several ways to acquire your prize. A few ideas for large prizes are theme baskets, such as an international basket, a spa basket, appliances, tickets to a sporting or theatre event, and gift certificates to restaurants. If you have your own business and want to offer a free consultation or service that would be great!
4. The Ad Journal - Each family must acquire two to five ads (advertisements) from businesses they patronage all year long. Hair or nail salons, food services, restaurants, plumbers, construction companies are usually always happy to provide an ad. Remind them it is great publicity and it is for a worthy cause.
5. Off-site 50/50 - Chances are $5.00 per ticket and are available in advance, as well as the night of the event.
6. On-site 50/50 - An on-site 50/50 will be held the night of the event.
